Welcome to this weeks edition of Miracle Monday! Miracle Monday is created for us to share testimonies of faith and miracles that God is still performing. I know the more I read about God’s mighty works, the more excited I get and my faith is increased. Please join me every Monday for an exciting new story of what God can do!
I’m so excited to introduce you today to my dear friend Heather from Raising Mighty Arrows for this week’s edition of Miracle Monday! Heather has been a great encouragement and inspiration to me and I thank her so much for sharing her financial miracle with us today! Heather begins…
My story took place a couple of years ago and it is still very real to me!
I went to the mailbox one particular day and pulled out a letter from our bank, which holds the mortgage to our home. The letter stated (in so many words) that our homeowner’s insurance (which is escrowed into our mortgage payment) was coming due the first of the year (it was December when I received the letter) and had been figured incorrectly by the bank. There wasn’t enough money in escrow to pay the insurance so we would have to pay the difference.
Our homeowner’s insurance is outrageous because of our location in relation to the fire department.
I was so upset! I called my husband, who was at work, right away to tell him because we hadn’t been married long enough for me to learn that you wait until he’s home from work and the timing is just right to tell him something like this.
I made several phone calls to the bank, insurance company, and even the fire department over the next few days, trying to get this “mistake” taken care of, to no avail.
It boiled down to the fact that we owed $2056.00. We didn’t have the money and didn’t know what we were going to do. I was ahem … panicking. My husband remained calm and reminded me of the faith he had when he found our house for sale that the Lord would provide and it would be ours. And, what do you know? The house is ours … as long as we make our monthly payment of course!
I was so afraid that we wouldn’t be able to come up with the money and the bank would have to foreclose on us. We were still fairly newlywed, already had our first child in tow, and Christmas was coming sooner then we could prepare for. Sadly, “O ye of little faith” was beginning to be my tune.
We went to church for mid week service and I testified to the church that my husband and I had a mountain standing in front of us that we needed moved immediately. (I think I even said by Friday).
At this point my husband didn’t even know how much money we owed. I never told him because I knew there was nothing he could do about it at that point.
After church someone wrote a check and gave it to my father-in-law to give to us (they didn’t want us to know who provided the money) in the amount of $2000.00! No one except the lady at the bank and me knew we needed that much money!
We were $56.00 short but we could (and did) come up with the rest easily.
I testified to the lady at the bank about how the Lord had provided for us. While she was very excited, she wasn’t nearly as excited as I was. My faith was increased abundantly!
That was our first big financial miracle and I’ll never forget it!
Heather is a child of the King and in need of His abundant grace everyday. She’s never found Him to give up on her, although she admits He should have a long time ago! Heather has been married to her best friend for 4 1/2 years. They have been blessed with 2 children so far that light up their lives daily. Heather and her family are currently pastoring their first church. You can find her blogging at Raising Mighty Arrows; as well as connect with her on Facebook and Twitter.
Heather also recently opened her own boutique Vintage Handmade Soaps. I know she would love if you stopped in and visited her new shop!
