I’ve Transferred To WordPress And Blog Makeover!

I’m so excited to announce that I am now on wordpress and have my own domain! As some of you remember I was currently on Treasures of Faith, but that name wasn’t available as a .com so I decided to go with something a little different. Although I really did like the other name, I am really happy with Stand By Faith as well!

I’ve wanted to move for several months, but I like to research and read about things before I just jump right into them. I am confident that I made a great decision for where God is taking this blog and I’m excited to share what I’ve learned.

The first thing you probably noticed is my new blog design! Isn’t it AMAZING!!

I recently won a complete blog makeover from the lovely Melanie from Mommy Doodles and let me just tell you she is AMAZING to work with! She listened to everything I wanted and went out of her way to make things perfect. She tweeked here and there until I was 100% satisfied. And I am!!!

Here’s a little more about Melanie!

Professionally, I have always had an interest in design and online marketing. I live and work full time in Massachusetts. My full time career as a designer began in 1997.

I have developed an understanding of what it takes to get optimum results, not just on the computer screen, but in the finished product. That comes from working day in and day out on printing and prepress projects plus the experience working on powerful computer workstations using the best available software.

Personally, I am a wife and mother. My husband and I are raising two young boys in Massachusetts.

My online portfolio is being continually expanded. I am open to new and exciting projects!

When Mommy Doodles first contacted me and told me I had won a complete blog makeover from her I was thrilled! (I even think I jumped off the couch and screamed a little! hehehe) I really was that excited to win! :) She asked me if I wanted a wordpress or blogger theme, then pointed me to Studio Press once I told her I would love to move to wordpress. It took me a looooong time to decide, but I finally chose the Serenity Theme because it had so many features that I love!  Serenity theme is a child theme, which means it needs a parent theme to work with. Melanie installed both of these for me immediately and began working on my designs.

I sent Mommy Doodles a digital paper that I loved for the background and asked her to build the website around that. I wanted the header to be  clean, simple and easy to read! I am so excited how it came out!!

I also got these new buttons that are just perfect! (click on them to follow me!)

Which reminds me, I’m also starting a new Facebook page. I know I hate to move and chance losing some of you wonderful followers, but I really feel that in the long run it will be easier to remember one name! You can now find me on Facebook as Stand By Faith! I will keep Treasures of Faith open for a while so you can still find me! :)

Mommy Doodles also transferred my content from blogger and let me tell you, again, I couldn’t have done it without her! She is simply AMAZING! Even when she was finished with my designs she sent me another email asking if I had any questions or wanted any other changes. She just went out of her way to make sure I got just what I wanted!

So now that I’ve played around with wordpress for a couple of weeks, what do I think? I am in love!! I admit I was terrified of learning a new platform and figuring out the difference between plug-ins, gadgets and widgets and how to use them all. But now that I’m here I never want to go back to wordpress. So what’s so special about wordpress? It’s so customizable!

I didn’t realize how limited my customization was on blogger until I played around on the wordpress dashboard. WOW! And the most exciting part, it’s actually a lot easier then I first imagined! After the first couple days I started to feel really confident that I can do this!

I hope you are enjoying my new website as much as I am! If you are considering transferring to wordpress, I highly recommend it! You won’t be sorry! Don’t know where to start? No problem! Just contact Mommy Doodles and she’ll walk you through it!  You can also check out her Portfolio!

You can also find Mommy Doodles on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, LinkedIn, Android Market and of course on her blog Mommy Doodles!

Thanks Melanie @ Mommy Doodles! I couldn’t have done it without you!!
