My Testimony – Part 5 – 300 Days And Counting!

Sarah in SICU in Boston Medical Center

My Testimony is very long so I am sharing it in several parts. Be sure to read ... Part 1 - God Calls A Child Part 2 - A Path Of Sin! Part 3 - Redemption - God's Amazing Grace! Part 4 - Angels Among Us! I was so excited about seeing angels and Jesus that I never stopped thinking about it or talking about it. Those moments are what kept me going for a long time. The surgery I had was to remove all my large intestines, and my appendix, and create a new rectum with small intestines, called a J-pouch. I was only going to have the ileostomy bag for 6-8 weeks while the pouch healed then it would be reversed. I didn't like the bag but since it … [Read more...]

My testimony is very long so I am breaking it down into several posts. Part 1 - God Calls A Child Part 2 - A Path Of Sin Part 3 - Redemption - God's Amazing Grace! "Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; " Psalms 23:4 Our Wedding Day November 22, 1996 Dustin and I were married when I was 19 and he was 20. We thought we had life all figured out. We bought a house and a new truck. We both had fairly good jobs, life was going good. For the first year I didn't want children at all. I knew I was too young and didn't want all the work and trouble that came … [Read more...]

My Testimony – Part 3 – Redemption – God’s Amazing Grace!

my testimony

My testimony is very long so I have divided it into chapters! Don't forget to read Part 1 and Part 2! "Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call." Acts 2:38+39 Dustin & Sarah's engagement picture! I knew Dustin from High School. I don't know how or why he showed up at my house one day shortly after I returned from College, except that it was divine intervention! At … [Read more...]

My Testimony – Part 2 – A Path Of Sin!

Sarah senior 1 001

I'm writing my testimony in parts because it is so long. Don't forget to read Part 1 first! "But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway." 1 Corinthians 9:27 I would love to be able to say that I have always been obedient to God's word and followed his commandments faithfully. But that is simply not the case. Sarah age 17. I became complacent in my relationship with Jesus Christ. I was not guarded with my faith and I allowed the devil to influence my life. I suddenly had new "friends". I began sneaking out and … [Read more...]

MiracleMondaybutton

Olivia Faith... "Thanks also to God for His unspeakable gift" 2 Corinthians 9:15 Welcome to the second edition of Miracle Monday. I'm excited to introduce you this week to Tanya at The Humble Homemaker as she shares her miracle story of Olivia Faith! At twenty weeks pregnant I broke water; it was a slow leak. I knew something was not right, but never, ever did I think I had broke water. Honestly, I thought I had not thoroughly wiped, I know, gross!! But it was 2:00AM! And by the way, I did get up to wipe again, despite the time. Anyway two days and a lot of thorough wiping later, I had my first ultrasound. The technician asked me … [Read more...]

My Testimony – Part 1 – God Calls A Child!

god calls a child to the ministry

"But Jesus called them unto him, and said, Suffer little children to come unto me, and forbid them not; for of such is the kingdom of God." Luke 18:16 Sarah, in red, age 4. Isn't baby sister so cute!! I am the middle daughter of 3 girls. My parent's were divorced when I was 3 years old. I remember some visits with my father growing up, but they were few and far between, and did not last for many years. We had a neighbor who was also named Sarah, so I was always called by my first and middle name, Sarah Jeanne, or more often Sarah Jeanne Jelly Bean. I love being called Sarah Jeanne, but my mother is the only one who still … [Read more...]

I control the atmosphere of the household! Who knew?

We have our two 16 year old nephews stay with us most of the summer, usually five out of every seven days. It's so much fun having them and my house seems to come alive with them.As I have mentioned before I am NOT a multi-tasker. I get a little OCD with some things and completely forget about others. So I started list making, what has to be done and what I would like to do. I put down the must do's first and after I accomplish those I move on to the fun stuff, what I want to do! :) If you read my post last week called A Fumbling Chef, then you would know there are days when I am completely frazzled! But thankfully not everyday … [Read more...]

Preparing for RAIN!

I heard a story of two farmers. Both farmers prayed for rain, but only one went to prepare his fields. Which one do you think believed that God would answer his prayers? I love this little parable, it's so simple and yet drives it's point home. If you really believe God will answer your prayers, you'll act upon it! You may or may not know that I've been praying for God to heal my womb so that I can conceive and have children. Several years ago God pressed upon me to "prepare" for my child. I actually set up the nursery, crib and everything. But we have a very small house and it wasn't long before the space was desperately needed. I … [Read more...]

Miracle Monday – A Miracle Baby!

Matthew 21:22 "And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive!"Welcome to the first edition of Miracle Monday! There are so many encouraging stories of faith and the mighty works of God in the bible that we can't help but get excited when we read them. But many of us forget that "Jesus Christ (is) the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever!"  Hebrews 13:8. We are not serving a dead God who lived 2,000 years ago! We are serving the same living God who healed the lepers and fed 5,000! Do you think he cares less about your needs then the woman at the well? NO! He want's us to find … [Read more...]

A Fumbling Chef!

During the summer we have our two 16 year old nephews with us 5 days a week. Our home transforms from laid back and quiet to hectic and crazy, and we love every minute of it. Well ... almost every minute! One of the places I have struggled the most is in the kitchen. It seems that I barely get the dishes washed and the kitchen clean from lunch and then I am already starting supper again. I've never been a good multi-tasker and so this is what cooking spaghetti was like at the beginning of the summer ...I start cooking the hamburger and get water boiling. I remember to season the meat and am so … [Read more...]
