Are You A Frumpy Or Fabulous Wife?

I really enjoyed Caroline’s post at the Modest Mom today and I wanted to share it with you.

Well I know for sure that I can be a frumpy wife. I don’t have many pictures of myself actually but I’ll work on getting some to post for the friday linky.
This is generally what I look like everyday, minus the sun glasses. I slick my hair straight back into a bun, which I call my lazy hairdo. LOL My husband does not like this haristyle at all, infact he is always telling me he doesn’t care for this haristyle. But it’s easy for me so I don’t usually think about it I just do it.
I’ve never been a “girly” girl, I’ve always been the “tomboy” girl. You will rarely find me in anything fancier then a jean skirt and t-shirt with my hair slicked back. I know it’s not very becoming and I’m not helping myself at all, but I just can’t be bothered with “frimping” and “primping”.
I’ll confess it’s not easy for me to do different hair styles because I have 45 feet 4.5 feet of hair. And yes it really does feel like 45 feet some days! LOL It’s so long now I can’t even braid it myself so I just do this frumpy old bun. I can’t do stylish hairstyles often because I am prone to migraines really easy and all those pins can be a killer. (If any of you other gals have super long hair I’d love some tips on hairstyles PLEASE!!)
This week Caroline has challenged us to consider how our appearance affects our husbands and portrays us as wives. So I’m going to strive really hard to “dress up” a little better and maybe even look in the mirror while I get dressed! HORROR!!!
You can also see in the second picture that I have Rosacea, an inflammitory skin condition that is one of the side effects I have from colitis. It only goes away when I take an antibiotic 3 times a day, and really who wants to take pills 3 times a day? Nevermind being on an antibiotic for the rest of my life. But it can be painful as well as ugly so I usually take just enough antibiotics to keep it under control, but never enough to keep it gone. I’m also going to try to remember to take my medicine this week too.
Thanks Caroline for the great reminder to spend some time on ourselves! I can’t wait to read everybody’s posts at the end of the week!
Have you let yourself go in some areas? What are some area’s you need to work on?

Thanks for sharing, it is easy to be frumpy sometimes, and I'm not a girly girl either. I don't need to dress up for work but I do try to look nice (non-cattle or dog clothes!) when I'm hanging out or going to town.

Wow your hair is really long…mine is short in comparison.
