Welcome to “30 Days of Praise!” Every once in a while I go into a month long journey of fasting, praying and praising. It helps me re-commit my life to Christ, keep my priorities in order, slow down from the craziness of everyday life and take time to really listen to what God wants to tell me. I am always amazed and excited where my journey takes me, and this time I will be journaling everyday and sharing my experiences with you.
Day 23~
I’ve been enjoying my two 16 year old nephews more then usual this summer and they are keeping me busy. It is so amazing how different life is with children in my home. There is so much more noise, more laundry, more clutter, more cooking and more laughter. It is so fun watching life through their half boy/half man eyes.
But the thing I love most about these boys in my house is how much love I feel. Although I get frustrated with the messes and all the dishes, there is nothing in the world sweeter then a big hug and “I love you Auntie”. I always thought boys outgrew their need for outward affection and wanted to be “cool”, and I don’t know if the boys do it for themselves or because they know how much I need it. But several times a day they will hug me and tell me how much they love me. I’m sure they are aware how much it softens me right up and I am more likely to let them play video games longer or make their favorite dessert. But I don’t care what their intentions are. It is just so sweet to have them in my home and I thank both of their families for allowing them to come over, and sacrificing their time with the boys so that I can get my fill of “kids in the house”. My BIL always reminds me I have to return the favor when I have children of my own.
We’ll have to see about that! LOL
What are your favorite moment’s with the kids that melt your heart?
