30 Days of Praise … Day 15 – A Day With Mom!

Welcome to “30 Days of Praise!” Every once in a while I go into a month long journey of fasting, praying and praising. It helps me re-commit my life to Christ, keep my priorities in order, slow down from the craziness of everyday life and take time to really listen to what God wants to tell me. I am always amazed and excited where my journey takes me, and this time I will be journaling everyday and sharing my experiences with you.

Day 15~
WOW! I’m half way already! I can’t believe it has gone by so quickly! It seems like I’m so busy, but I love summer so much and they are just so short here in Maine that I want to take full advantage of it! I’m working on several projects, including getting a review section going, so keep on the lookout! In the mean time I wanted to share with you my day.

My husband is at Men’s camp for a couple of days, so I spent the night last night at my mom’s house and made my first Thirty-One gifts purchase! Well two actually, but I’ll wait and share them with you when they come in! Mom and I decided to spend the day at the Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens in Boothbay, Maine. And let me tell you if you are ever in Maine, you have to visit these gardens! They are so tranquil and serene and we spent a peacefull day simply enjoying God’s splendor and creation. Here is a bit of show and tell!

This was my first visit to the gardens, and my mother’s third visit. Isn’t the visitor’s center absolutely beautiful!!

I really enjoyed this water display, the sound was so serene and peaceful!

This wall garden caught really caught my eye!

Throughout the garden are sculptures and art by Maine artists! I believe most of them were for sale.

I love animals and was so excited to catch this little guy taking a nap on the grass!

This granite sculpture reminds me of a woman with her arms raised praising the Lord!

I’ve ALWAYS wanted a rose trellis and had so much fun walking through it!

It didn’t take long for the kid in me to come out when we entered the children’s garden.

I love this fun maze and activity center in the middle of the children’s garden!

And of course the kids need their own pond!

This little cabin was so cute, and filled with crayons and paper for coloring. Great idea!!

This picture represents my mother’s favorite flower and my husbands worst enemy.

Hmmm don’t wanna think about that too hard! LOL

The children’s garden even has it’s own tree house! How fun!

This path was so quiet and serene! I need to make one at home!!

I couldn’t leave without taking a picture of my favorite flower, the Lily!

Good Bye Children’s Garden! It really had a fantasy feel to it!

How cute that this “whale” rock has water spraying out of the top! Perfect for cooling off!

I LOVE water features so we had to take the 15 minute walk to the Rhododendren Garden and see it!

I had to stop myself from jumping in! YES I really was tempted!!

Thank GOD a ride was provided on the walk back! We had been walking for over 3 hours by now!

Thanks Mom for the wonderful day and great memories! I had a wonderful time!

I hope you enjoyed the pictures from my day! It is so important for us to slow down a little bit, turn off the tv and cell phones, and simply enjoy God’s beauty around us! He created it for us, and let me tell you I felt so soothed and relaxed in my spirit! There is something so healing about walking in nature! So take some time to stop and smell the roses!
