30 Days of Praise … Day 13 – What If Today Was Your Last?

Welcome to “30 Days of Praise!” Every once in a while I go into a month long journey of fasting, praying and praising. It helps me re-commit my life to Christ, keep my priorities in order, slow down from the craziness of everyday life and take time to really listen to what God wants to tell me. I am always amazed and excited where my journey takes me, and this time I will be journaling everyday and sharing my experiences with you.

Day 13 ~
I’ve had a really fun time lately finding some lovely new pages on Facebook and exploring them! I’ll be posting more about some of my favorites later.

In the past several weeks we have had 3 close deaths to us, 2 more deaths of family members of our church saints, and still we have friends in the hospital who have not been given a good prognosis. Also my husband’s cousin’s wife passed away and she was only 34 years old.

Needless to say it has been a sad month for us. So I wanted to encourage you to STOP what you are doing and ask yourself, “What if today was my last? What would I do differently?” It is so easy to get caught up in the cares of life, distracted by meaningless things, wasting our time on foolishness. I always say, “I’m only going to be on the computer a few minutes” and before I know it I’ve been on here for hours, and the things I should be doing get neglected. For several summers I’ve been meaning to make a trip to visit my grandfather, but something always comes up and I never make it. What if he is the next one to go? What if I never have a chance to tell my family the things that are on my heart? I pass people on the street everyday, what if it is their last day? Have they met my Lord and given their life to him?

I don’t want to end my life full of regrets and “I wish I had …” ‘s. I don’t want to waste anymore time with meaningless things. I want to live my life to the fullest everyday, make time for those that are important to me. I want to go to sleep at night knowing that if I don’t wake up in the morning I have no regrets. Yes I’ve got my soul prepared and I’m ready to meet my Lord, but what about those I would leave behind? Have I said the things I should have said? Have I shown the love that I want to give? Have I done what God asked me and not procrastinated until it was too late. My husband’s cousin’s wife was 34. We never know when our time will be. Let’s make every moment count! Let’s make those changes while we still have time!
Psalms 118:24 “This is the day which the Lord; we will rejoice and be glad in it!”
